PartySafe@Cal: Reducing Harm associated with drinking and parties around campus

PartySafe@Cal collaborates with numerous campus and community organizations to use environmental management strategies to restructure both the campus and community environment in ways which lead students to make safer, healthier, and more legal choices about alcohol use. Key strategies of the PartySafe@Cal program are:

  • Reduce social norms misperceptions about college drinking, acceptance of associated harm, and permissiveness of campus and community enforcement authorities.
  • Increase consistent and visible enforcement of effective campus and community alcohol policies and laws;
  • Increase use of effective alcohol and party risk management practices in social and commercial settings.
  • Track and communicate key data and other information to stakeholders to inform policy and program development;
  • Encourage and contribute to a strong and sustainable campus/community collaboration to reduce alcohol-related problems.

PartySafe@Cal is a program of University Health Services in collaboration with other campus and community organizations.
The mission is to reduce harm associated with drinking in the campus area.
