A week of activities asking all parts of our campus community to examine and shift the attitudes, policies and practices that promote alcohol-related problems for individuals, departments, campus, and the surrounding community.

Shout Outs, Workshops & Other Resources
All week. Various times and locations.
Step up and speak up for PartySafe@Cal in your community. Our initiatives are making a difference. Talk with student leaders at the tables and events in the res halls, dining commons and around campus all week.

Alcohol Policy & Practice @ Cal
Tuesday, October 20
Every facet of higher education is made more difficult if the surrounding culture accepts and leaves high risk college drinking practices unexamined and unchallenged. Do your departments’ formal and informal alcohol policies and practices promote or abet alcohol problems? Use this quick survey and discussion guide to focus your departments’ review.

TIPS – Training for Intervention Procedures
Wednesday October 21  7-9pm
Gain skills you need to prevent intoxication in others and intervene with friends who’ve misused alcohol. Expand the people and party-management skills you already have to reduce harm associated with drinking around our campus community. Pre-registration required. Meet Your Neighbor Day
Friday October 23
Drinking & parties can disrupt others’ sleep and study. But when we know our neighbors’ names, lifestyles and priorities, we are more considerate.  So make the extra effort today to meet and exchange key information with all your neighbors.

Sober Weekend
October 22-24
No alcohol for 72 hours.  That’s it – can you do it?  New to Cal? It’s a good chance to assess the “college effect” on your drinking.  This 3-day experiment is a good exercise for drinkers of any age – a chance to take notice of your drinking choices and habits. Individuals who experience difficulty/discomfort are urged to contact local resources. Take the Sober Weekend Pledge by Wednesday, October 21.

Campus/Community Crawl
Friday October 23 7:30pm-Midnight
